DVD Authoring

Our DVD Encoding & Authoring facilities provide the client with a one-stop-shop solution. The process begins with delivery of video masters which are filtered and encoded to MPEG2, whilst the audio is converted to AC3. The next stage is to create menus, subtitles, Dolby Digital mixes, multi angle segments, multi language audio tracks and chapter points. All the assets are then brought together to produce a DVD image, which then has copy and region protection applied, as required, and gets written to DLT for delivery to the replication house.

These processes are carried out using the best hardware based systems. Sony Vizaro encoder for conversion to MPEG2/AC3, dpsReality for uncompressed video playback of menus, and Spruce DVD Maestro to bring all the assets together.

There are several levels of encoding quality to suit all budgets, from variable bit rate hardware encoding, to software based encoding. Depending on financial restraints and project types, various methods can be employed in a single project so that quality is maximised.
